What will you be doing?

For a strategic development project, we are looking for an experienced data engineer who can help build our data warehouse. In this role, the candidate will combine strong technical execution with ownership of the product and direct coordination with business stakeholders.

The engineer will work within a broader engineering structure in which a tech lead is responsible for the overarching technical vision and for coaching developers. There is a product owner who assists with sprint planning and communication with internal stakeholders.

What do you bring to the table?

  • Senior level (extensive experience as a full-stack developer)
  • Strong backend focus using Python
  • Experience with modern web architectures and API design
  • Experience leading your own domain or product
  • Comfortable in an environment with a clear separation between the Tech Lead and product responsibility
  • Strong communication skills and business-minded
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, is required.
  • Experience with AI / prompting (e.g. working with LLMs or AI integrations)


Key responsibilities

  • Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Writing production-ready code that connects external data sources to our data warehouse
  • Making data from the data warehouse available to internal clients via dashboards
  • Actively communicating with internal clients and stakeholders
  • Ensuring code quality, architecture and best practices (in line with Tech Lead guidelines)


Technical stack

  • Backend: Python
  • Frameworks/libraries: Apache Airflow, Apache Superset, Polars, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic
  • Database: PostgreSQL


What do we offer you?

  • A gross monthly salary of between €5,800 and €7,800 (based on a 40-hour week), depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • 8% holiday pay.
  • A 12-month contract based on a 40-hour week, with the prospect of a permanent position.
  • The option to work hybrid, requiring you to be in the office for at least two days a week.

  • Travel allowance for commuting.
